Zone Buddy Lite is a powerful application that helps people on the zone diet keep track of their daily block allotments and provides other useful tools listed below. The zone diet is attributed to Dr. Barry Sears who suggests a 40-30-30 (carbs to protein to fat) ratio to achieve optimal health. We have also denoted paleo foods within our food database for all of you crazy paleo people out there.
Zone Buddy Lite has limited features as it is a free application. If you want to get more out of the application then download Zone Buddy which is also ad free.
Here are the features included in ZB Lite:
-Food database in which users can search for a desired food (If you download Zone Buddy you can choose to limit the search based on favorable, moderately favorable, or unfavorable foods. In the full version, users can change the block amount and Zone Buddy will compute the new quantity.)
-Meal plans are laid out based on the users input that is initially set by determining sex and the build of the user.
(In the full version users can customize meal plan by changing times and number of blocks per meal.)
-Notes can be written within meals for users to keep track of the foods that they ate, how they felt, or whatever they would like to write about.
Here are some features that you will get if you decide to go with the full version:
-Search limitation: You can use tabs at the top of the food database to limit search by favorable, moderately favorable, and unfavorable foods.
-Customization is available for the amount of blocks per meal, the timing of meals, alarms, e-mail settings, etc.
-E-mail’s can be sent through the application so you can keep track of your diet on the computer or send your information to a friend.
-Block calculator is located in the settings portion of the app and it allows users to get a more precise block allotment calculation based on weight, body fat %, and activity level.
-And of course, the full version is ad free!
